Geovex completed a comprehensive piling and reinforced concrete foundation package at Moreton Road in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, supporting a multi-plot residential development. The project scope combined Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piling with an extensive beam programme, delivering a coordinated substructure across multiple housing plots.
Ground conditions at the Buckingham site comprised made ground overlying clay and sand strata. Geovex planned the installation sequence to manage the variable upper soils efficiently, maintaining programme momentum across each construction phase while ensuring consistent pile quality throughout.
The piling works comprised 244 CFA piles installed at 300mm and 350mm diameters, each verified through 100% sonic integrity testing. Bearing capacities ranged from 10kN to 50kN per pile, tailored to the structural loading requirements of each plot within the development.
The reinforced concrete package included 310 linear metres of 600×600 ground beams, 67 linear metres of 450×600 capping beams, and 40.4 linear metres of 450×450 ground beams - all cast in C28/35 concrete with 85mm Cellcore anti-heave protection beneath. The full programme was delivered within approximately ten weeks including mobilisation, providing a ready platform for superstructure works to begin.
